While you may be tempted to spend your day leisuring at the cabin there is a world of adventure outside your door. If you’re looking to fill your travel itinerary while in Hocking Hills here are some of our favorites!

  • Take a hike! Read our Hiking Trails Summary blog for a short summary of all the area trails, there is something for everyone. There are also some amazing State Nature preserves and permit only hiking areas- check out the Ohio Department of Natural Resources site to obtain a permit.​

  • Have some family fun at Adventure Golf at Rempel’s Grove. Scenic 18 hole miniuature golf course, with ice cream shop, and petting zoo on site. Our girls love to get a feed filled cone for $1 to feed the goats & deer.

  • Get your family photos updated. Bud and Bev of Bud Schrader Photography will meet you at your cabin or somewhere in the State Park to capture your family photos- many of our guests have highly recommended them!

  • ​Experience glass blowing at Jack Pine Studio and shop their beautiful studio for unique items. This is a great stop before or after hiking at Rockhouse, just a 2 minute drive.

  • Stop by Fox's High Rock Farm located on State Route 664 to meet and feed all the adorable animals. Perfect petting zoo for the little ones!

  • Canoe or Kayak down the Hocking River at the Hocking Hills Canoe Livery, Hocking Hills Adventures or Murray's Landing Our family of 4 fit comfortably in a single canoe.

  • Get in 18-holes at the Hocking Hills Golf Club followed by dinner or drinks on their gorgeous patio.

  • ​Take a step back to the prohibition era at Hocking Hills Moonshine where you can take a tour and taste the product. Located in downtown Logan you can walk downtown from here.

  • Go rappelling, rock climbing, or take an eco-tour with your entire group at High Rock Adventures. Mention you are staying at a Liberty Log Lodging cabin and promo code LLL010 to received a 10% discount

  • Rent a boat, stand up paddle board, or even a duck peddleboat on Lake Logan for the day at The Lake Logan Marina, a 10 minute drive from all our properties. Many of our guests mentioned this was their favorite part of their vacation.

  • Taste some local wines at The Hocking Hills Winery while relaxing on their woodsy patio. The wine slushies are a must try!

  • Go Shopping at The Hocking Hills Market. There is a year round flea market on the weekends, you never know what you'll find. There are also a few great antique shops in the area.

  • Make your own candle or find the perfect wind chime at The Wind Chime Shop- located just down the road from Cedar Falls

  • If you’re up for an adventure check out Hocking Hills Canopy Tours for some top rated zip-lining or off-road Segway tours! They have an amazing kids course called the Dragonfly that our 5 & 7 year old still rave about.

  • Enjoy the stars- The stargazing on a clear night from our properties is unbeatable! Be sure to check out the John Glenn Astronomy Park, which was opened in the summer of 2018.
