Things to do in Hocking Hills

You could easily spend your entire stay relaxing at one of our cabins but if you want to get out and explore the region there are so many options.  Here are some of our favorites along with some of our guest's recommendations from our guest books!

  • Take a hike! Read our Hiking the Hills with Kids for a short summary of all the area trails, there is something for everyone.  There are also some amazing State Nature preserves and permit only hiking areas- check out the Ohio Department of Natural Resources site to obtain a permit.
  • Stop by Fox's High Rock Farm located on State  Route 664 to meet and feed all the adorable animals. Perfect petting zoo for the little ones!
  • Go rappelling, rock climbing, or take an eco-tour with your entire group at High Rock Adventures.  Mention you are staying at a Liberty Log Lodging cabin and promo code LLL010 to received a 10% discount
  • Rent a boat on Lake Logan for the day at The Lake Logan Marina, a 10 minute drive from all our properties.  Many of our guests mentioned this was their favorite part of their vacation.
  • Go Shopping at The Hocking Hills Market. There is a year round flea market on the weekends, you never know what you'll find. There are also a few great antique shops in the area.
  • If your up for an adventure check out Hocking Hills Canopy Tours for some top rated zip-ling!
  • Canoe or Kayak down the Hocking River at the Hocking Hills Canoe Livery
  • Enjoy the stars- The stargazing on a clear night from our properties is unbeatable! Be sure to check out the John Glenn Astronomy Park-Opening June 21, 2018

Dining

Many of our guests load up their coolers and never venture out, but there are plenty of options if you do!

  • Kindred Spirits at the Inn at Cedar Falls-a short drive from Liberty Ridge and River Rock- this is the most unique dining experience in the Hills.  Excellent food and atmosphere, be sure to make a reservation in advance!
  • Once you've worked up an appetite on the trails you'll want to stop by The Old Dutch Restaurant in Logan. They offer a full Amish inspired menu, or our favorite- the buffet, which includes the best selection of pies! There is also a petting zoo next door for the kids.
  • A few of our guests have raved about Pearl's Diner for excellent home style country cooking. Located in the Wal-Mart plaza.
  • If BBQ is what you crave- Millstone BBQ is great, and for some classic american cuisine The Hungry Buffalo is right next door, both have full service bars.
  • Pizza Crossing is the area favorite pizza and sub place.  We like to dine in and head over to Hocking Hills Frozen Yogurt shop after for  a sweet treat.
