Where to Eat in Hocking Hills

Many of our guests load up their coolers and never venture out, but there are plenty of options if you do. Listed below are some of our personal favorites. We’ve organized our recommendations by area so you can efficiently plan your dining.

IN TOWN/LOGAN

• 58 West has a huge covered patio for outdoor dining and a kids menu. We think this is the unofficial Bachelorette Party dinner spot as we saw 4 groups the evening we were there.

• Maya Burrito Co. if you’re craving a Mexican burrito or bowl, their outdoor covered patio is pet friendly!

• The Old Dutch Restaurant offers a full Amish inspired menu, or our favorite- the buffet, which includes the best selection of pies! There is also a petting zoo next door for the kids. We recently used them to cater fried chicken for our group of 27 and everyone loved it (you’ll want to order plenty of rolls-they are delicious!)

• Millstone BBQ is great, and for some classic American cuisine The Hungry Buffalo is right next door, both have full service bars, large menus, and pet-friendly patios. Kids eat for .99 on Sundays at Hungry Buffalo!

• Enjoy a wine flight and charcuterie board on the patio at the Hocking Hills Winery Their wine slushies are highly recommended! The winery is kid-friendly and offers a selection of non-alcoholic drinks, pizzas, and salads.

• Pizza Crossing is the area favorite pizza and sub place.  We like to dine in and head over to Hocking Hills Frozen Yogurt shop after for a sweet treat or Boba.​​ From here you can enjoy a stroll around downtown Logan. 

• Christy’s Pizza is another local favorite for pizza.

NEAR THE STATE PARK/CAVES

• Kindred Spirits at the Inn at Cedar Falls offers a casual fine-dining experience in the Hills- reservations recommended. Save room for dessert because their mixed berry cobbler is amazing!

• The Cave Pizza and Beer (formally Captain Ron's Pirate Pizza) is just 5 minutes from our Golden Acres Lodge & Collison Road properties. Perfect for pizza, subs, and wings along with ice cream along with an outdoor bar!

• The Hocking Hills Coffee Emporium is the spot for all your caffeine cravings, as well as baked goods and sandwiches, the chicken salad is my favorite!

• For some of the best homemade donut’s, you’ll want to add The Ridge Inn to your list. They are fresh out of the oven around lunch time on Th,Fr,&Sat. We were able to dine out on the patio with our dog here. 

• While you're out hiking at the caves you can quench your thirst at Jimbo's Burgers and Beer. They have a large patio for outdoor dining. 

IN CABIN DINING/PERSONAL CHEF

• Many of our guests have chosen to hire a personal chef to prepare a meal in cabin! These options are all familiar with our properties and come highly recommended:

  • Chef Tyler Toles has catered numerous special occasion dinners (even a few full weekends of meals) for our guests.

  • Four Seasons Catering has been recommended by many of our corporate and group guests.

  • CookinGenie has a wide range of personal chefs to fit your needs- Use our code ‘libertylog’ and save $50.

NEIGHBORING TOWNS

• Starbrick BBQ is worth the short drive into Nelsonville! Located in the Rocky Outdoor Gear Store in Nelsonville you can shop and eat! Our girls found a great deal on some adorable cowgirl boots here.

• Take the scenic drive to neighboring Lake Hope State Park Dining Lodge to grab a bite to eat with a view of the lake.

• Rhonemus Cellars in Lancaster is a gorgeous winery with amazing food! Reservations are recommended.
